Founded in 2015 by David and LaTonya Whitaker, Soul Food House is a family-owned restaurant located in the heart of Tokyo, Japan. It was birth out of a desire to bring authentic American Southern and Cajun cuisine to the hearts and stomachs of those that live and visit Japan. It doesn’t matter who you are or where you are from, when you walk through the doors of Soul Food House, you are family coming home. So come on in and Taste the Love at Soul Food House.


Our Soul Food House dishes are all locally sourced and scratch-made for everyone to enjoy. Owner LaTonya Whitaker along with our amazing team of talented chefs pump out all your favorite Southern and Cajun classics from mac & cheese to chicken & dumplings to shrimp & grits and so much more. Vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options are also available.


Soul Food House has amazing cocktails for everyone to enjoy. Owner & Mixologist David Whitaker likes to create cocktails that tell a story or invoke an image. If you don’t like alcohol, no problem, there are many tasty options to hit your palate just right. At Soul Food House, it’s not about drinking but appreciating and enjoying a good drink.
