Blue Note Jazz Festival

“The Blue Note JAZZ FESTIVAL (hereinafter BNJF) was organized by Blue Note New York and started in 2011. It has become a New York early summer tradition, with jazz and various music overflowing at multiple venues such as clubs and theaters for a month. This year, veterans such as Wynton Marsalis and Michel Camilo will appear, as well as the currently popular Yusef Dayes. From 2022, it will also be held in Napa (California), with Robert Glasper as artist in residence and Dave Chappelle as host, and Mary J. Blige, Thundercat, Snoop Dogg and others will appear, further evolving.

　The first time the festival was held in Japan in 2015, it was held at the Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse outdoor special stage, featuring Jeff Beck, Pat Metheny, Incognito, and others, and in 2016 it was followed by Earth, Wind & Fire, George Benson, Andra Day, and others.

　The lineup for the first day of “BNJF in JAPAN 2024” includes the top rapper/ lyricist Tonas , also known as the King of MC, Parliament-Funkadelic feat. George Clinton , led by living legend in the funk world , MISIA & Takuya Kuroda BAND , who gave a legendary performance at BNJF in 2016, Tank and the Bangas, who have been praised as a “ray of hope in the music world” and have excited festivals such as Coachella and Glastonbury , and ENDRECHERI , the hotly talked about creative project started by Tsuyoshi Domoto after being inspired by “P-Funk . ” On the second day, Chicago, which boasts sales of over 100 million CDs and records worldwide , will headline the festival, along with the ever-evolving charismatic bassist/producer Marcus Miller , “the kings of dance music” Nile Rodgers & Chic , the one-of-a-kind ensemble Snarky Puppy , and the world-renowned “funky sax queen” Candy Dulfer . A lineup that transcends generations and genres will gather at the new venue, Ariake Arena in Tokyo!
