Women of Legacy is a monthly women’s bonding event to share, learn, and grow as a community through open discussion and activities. This month’s WOL event will be a virtual discussion of women’s health with guest speaker Olukunmi Balogun and Brandi Branch.
Olukunmi Omobolanle Balogun, BSc, MSc, PhD
Olukunmi is an international scholar with research experience in African countries and Japan. Her background is in biochemistry and is currently a public health scientist and researcher at the National Center for Child Health and Development Tokyo, Japan. Olukunmi’s work focuses on social determinants of health, particularly in women and children, with special interest in the role of food in health and wellness. She grew up in Nigeria and currently lives in Japan with her husband and two lovely kids.
Brandi Branch, MSN, RNC-OB
Brandi A. Branch is a certified Obstetrical Clinical Nurse in the 374th Inpatient Operations Squadron, 374th Medical Group, 374th Fighter Wing, Yokota Air Base, Japan. She works in a 15-bed multi bed service unit where she supports 500 births and 1,000 patients. She also supervises nursing care for a 3-member team, mentors, and enforces standards of care, patient safety, infection prevention, and staff education development. Brandi also delivers expert medical care to neonates and executes unit process improvements and provides patient education.
